International legal cooperation
ILSAC’s work in promoting awareness and understanding of Australia’s legal system and institutions in the countries of the Asia-Pacific and other regions is undertaken through the International Legal Cooperation Committee.
ILSAC aims to facilitate a greater understanding of each country’s law, legal systems and legal institutions, particularly in the areas of trade, business and international law, and interchange. This is pursued through legal institutions and professional legal contact and interchange. This is pursued through legal visits, participation in conferences and seminars, and the exchange of materials and training.
This work corresponds to Objective 2 in ILSAC’s Business Plan.
Current priorities include the successful completion of the Australia-China Legal Profession Development (ACLPD) program for 2009, implementation of the ACLPD program in 2010 and legal cooperation with Indonesia.
