The International Legal Education and Training Committee progresses work under the corresponding Objective 3 in ILSAC's business plan.
Current priorities include:
- undertaking several projects following on from ILSAC's initiative to promote the internationalisation of the Australian law degree
- analysis of statistics relating to overseas students studying law in Australia to assist in policy development and strategic planning with a view to further promoting Australian legal education and training capabilities internationally
- promoting the establishment of a consistent, uniform and transparent system across Australia for the assessment of qualifications of foreign qualified graduates and practitioners seeking admission to practise law in Australia, and
- assisting the Council of Australian Law Deans with the publication of Studying Law in Australia (SLIA) 2008. SLIA 2008 is currently available online in English, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish and Korean.
