Ministerial Council on the Administration of Justice (MCAJ)
The Ministerial Council on the Administration of Justice (MCAJ) is comprised of (3) three Ministerial Councils:
- the Ministerial Council for Police and Emergency Management – Police (MCPEMP)
- the Inter-Governmental Committee of the Australian Crime Commission (IGC-ACC) and
- the Corrective Services Ministers' Conference (CSMC).
The meetings of each element of the MCAJ are conducted back to back, but with distinct Agenda, and following the cycle of MCPEMP meetings.
The MCPEMP, the IGC-ACC and their related senior officials' groups meet twice each year and the CSMC meets annually.
The Secretariat to the MCAJ is provided to the Councils, and their senior officials' groups, by the Commonwealth to support their work through the provision of policy advice and secretariat services.
The Secretariat is located in the Criminal Justice Division, Attorney-General's Department.
